Inmarsat has today launched its initial global handheld satellite television telephone - IsatPhone Professional - which has been purpose-built for its network.
It offers the longest battery existence in the marketplace, the most powerful handset, dependable worldwide coverage, clear voice quality and ease of use - all at the most competitive price point within the market. The satellite handset antennas are also outrageously expensive and include high technology during its production.
Cost and performance
Andrew Sukawaty, chairman and chief executive of Inmarsat, said: "The suggested retail price for IsatPhone Professional is US$699, although pricing promotions are anticipated to bring the end-user cost to US$500-600.
